Alfred W. Zollar is a seasoned technology executive, investor, and board director with deep expertise in enterprise software, private equity, and corporate governance. He most recently served as Executive Advisor at Siris Capital Group, a technology-focused private equity firm, from 2021 to 2024, following his tenure as Executive Partner from 2014 to 2021. At Siris, he worked closely with leadership teams across cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise software companies to drive operational performance and value creation.
Mr. Zollar previously spent 34 years at IBM, where he held a series of senior leadership roles across its systems and software businesses. He served as General Manager of IBM Tivoli Software, with full responsibility for strategy, operations, and P&L, and earlier led IBM's iSeries (AS/400) server business as General Manager. He also held executive leadership roles within IBM Lotus Software and other core software divisions, building a broad foundation in enterprise technology and information management.
He currently serves on the boards of Nasdaq, Inc. and The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, and has extensive prior public company board experience, including International Business Machines Corporation, Public Service Enterprise Group (2012-2023), The Chubb Corporation (2001-2016), and Red Hat, Inc. (2018-2019). His committee experience spans audit, finance, and technology oversight.
In addition to his corporate board work, Mr. Zollar serves on the Growth Advisory Board of Senzing, Inc. and is actively involved in nonprofit governance, including Concordance, EL Education, Eagle Academy Foundation, and the University of California San Diego Foundation. He is a Harvard Fellow of the Advanced Leadership Initiative (2011 cohort), a member of the Executive Leadership Council, and a lifetime member of the National Society of Black Engineers.
Mr. Zollar holds a master's degree in applied mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.
