AlphaAbout

An independent institution for the governance of AI.

Alpha exists to set the global standard for AI governance - giving decision-makers a credible external view of governance quality and delivering decision-ready inputs for capital allocation, underwriting, and oversight.

Our Mission

Make AI governance externally legible - and continuously verifiable.

The agent economy has outgrown the institutional infrastructure that governs it. Boards are accountable for AI systems they cannot fully observe. Allocators price companies whose governance posture is opaque. Insurers underwrite exposures with no comparable reference. Supervisors operate without standardized signal.

Alpha was founded to close that gap. We are an independent firm, structurally separated from the systems we rate, producing transparent governance ratings, benchmark indices, structured diagnostics, original research, and a continuously updated intelligence platform.

Alpha does not certify individual models. We assess whether an organization's governance environment is fit to deploy AI responsibly at enterprise scale.

Five commitments that shape every Alpha output.

Independence

We are an independent AI governance ratings and intelligence firm. We do not advise on, build, or operate the systems we rate, and we do not sell AI software, so we can work with labs, vendors, boards, investors, insurers, and public institutions while keeping our sole allegiance to governance quality.

Continuous Governance

We treat governance as an always-on discipline, not a periodic exercise. Our ratings, signals, and intelligence refresh as filings, disclosures, incidents, regulation, and agent behavior change, supporting continuous governance of AI systems and agents across the enterprise.

Agent-Native by Design

We are built for the agent economy, where AI systems and agents act as non-human decision-makers. We track how organizations define, constrain, and oversee these agents, their roles, permissions, and accountability, so governance can match the speed and autonomy of AI.

Evidence-Driven

Our conclusions are anchored in observable, comparable facts, not narratives or marketing. Ratings, diagnostics, and findings are tied to source documents, disclosures, incidents, and observed behavior, creating a defensible audit trail that lets decision-makers compare governance quality with the same rigor as financials or credit risk.

Decision-Grade Utility

Everything we produce is built to inform fiduciary decisions, not decorate presentations. Our outputs are structured to be decision-grade, usable in capital allocation, underwriting, enterprise oversight, and stewardship, so leaders can translate AI governance quality into concrete actions and accountability.

Methodology

The AGR Framework

The Alpha Governance Standard is the analytical foundation for Alpha ratings, materiality views, diagnostics, and research. It defines what is assessed, how evidence is evaluated, and how opinions are governed.

Public framework available on alpha.ac. Controlled scoring mechanics and company-specific evidence are available only through appropriate ratings or methodology-access processes.
