About
Satya Nadella is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and became Chief Executive Officer in February 2014 after holding leadership roles across the company’s enterprise and consumer businesses.
Before becoming Chief Executive Officer, Nadella led Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. He previously led research and development for the Online Services Division and served as vice president of the Microsoft Business Division. Before Microsoft, he worked on the technology staff at Sun Microsystems.
Microsoft’s 2025 proxy identifies Nadella as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and describes a board structure in which the Lead Independent Director supports independent oversight of management.
